What? You haven't read comics' visionary Alan Moore's first novel yet? His tour de force ensemble piece of the history of North Hampshire that starts off in the stone age and arrives at the present in the last chapter? Where he infamously re-invents language by writing the first chapters from the point of view from neanderthal man with the subsequent grammar and wording? Shame on you!
