Wow, is it December already?
... What? We're halfway through the month?! There's no time to lose, then - let's get some Stew on!

Pac-Mash-Up
I know what you're thinking. You're thinking, 'Dan, if you're trying to do a new Comics Stew after a month, you need to show some humility and possibly give us an apology in the form of some kind of video game/80s movie pop culture mash-up.'
First off, that's oddly specific; secondly, BAM:
Satisfying your craving is Australian webcomic artist, Scott Hampson - better known as Agent_X. Hampson has a series of one-panel webcomics to browse through on his site. If you can't get enough of him there, you can find him on Twitter at @Agent_X.

"Spider-Man and Two Jedi Walk Into a Shop..."
Stop me if you heard this one before!
Earlier this year, way back during Free Comic Book Day, Adelaide Comics Centre was hosting a major event - discounted comics, costumes, etc. Michael Baulderstone, the store owner, attended in costume (a Spidey costume, to be precise), and I'll be damned if his spider-sense didn't start tingling.
Apparently, Baulderstone was intrigued by a shifty-looking character who seemed a wee bit too antsy. He thought the man was suspicious because he was the only one without a costume. So Baulderstone followed him around the store, and when he finally confronted the odd gentleman he found what made him so nervous: a stolen copy of X-Men Omnibus, worth about $160.
Baulderstone contacted officials and enlisted the help of two Jedis to guard the door while they waited for the police to arrive. “My colleague," said Baulderstone, "who was dressed as The Flash, kept running the shop and stayed calm. It really was a team effort.”

Michael Cavna's Top Quotes
Michael Cavna writes for the Washington Post, contributing a column called Comic Riffs wherein he discusses cartoons, comics, and general geekery. It's pretty much what all of us here at Broken Frontier do, but he gets paid for it [insert RIMSHOT here].
Anyway, Cavna has compiled a list of his top quotes from this past year's interviews. Some of the quotes are quite hilarious, while others are thoughtful and have layers of meaning. I particularly like this one from Stan Lee:

“I told my wife Joanie, ‘I’m going to quit.’ But she said: ‘Why not write it the way you want to write it? If it doesn’t work, the worst that’s going to happen is that they’ll fire you. And you want to quit anyway.’ I tried having heroes [Mr. Fantastic and Invisible Girl] in love and getting married. And the teenager was a brother [the Human Torch] who didn’t particularly want to be a superhero.
“It was the turning point of my life.”
Cavna's interviews are interesting reads as well. If you have a sec, why not pop over to Comic Riffs and see what's up?

Comics to Die For
Have you guys heard of Fiverr? It sounds awesome. You sign up for an account, and then you can offer arbitrary goods and services for five dollars ($5). User YoYoRobot used this to get a bit creative in the webcomics field, offering to draw your death for five bucks.

Though I haven't been able to track down the user's work, and though he is not accepting orders, I felt the need to post this here anyway. It's a fantastic idea, and if one of our readers can't make a similar offer on the website, maybe we can pester YoYoRobot enough that he'll take up the pen and paper again!

Russian Unicorn
Have you seen this yet?! Have you?! It's amazing!
Think of those "bad lip-reading" GIFs you see on Tumblr and the like... Now add in a Michael Buble music video, a rap/pop beat, and a pinch of Awesome (1 pinch = A TRUCKLOAD). Yeah, that's Russian Unicorn. Enjoy!
