This year continued what is fast becoming my favorite Christmas Eve tradition: my Walking Dead tv marathon.
Now in year two, officially becoming a tradition, while you Gentiles are having wonderful family time, I'm watching zombies eat people for 6 hours or so.
And this year the show delivered my favorite gift possible, for after suffering through the first couple episodes, AMC gave me something that I had never noticed in mainstream media before: an Asian man hooking up with a white woman.
Come to think of it, it's become rather socially acceptable to show a white man paired with an Asian woman. I've seen it in television commercials, in movies, heck, I'm even the product of one. But the opposite? I can't recall a time when it was shown before now. And not just on a television show, but a highly rated and one of the most watched shows on television. In history. I honestly thought they were going to kill one of them before letting it happen. But there they were, Glenn and Maggie being all intimate.
So, thank you AMC. And thank you Robert Kirkman. I might even read the book now.
