Ed Brubaker is leaving Secret Avengers after only 12 issues. His busy schedule and his problems with team books are given as reasons. Was Secret Avengers a bad team book? And is it a good thing that Brubaker is gone?
Doing 12 issues of any particular comic book is a good thing and a bad thing, depending on a variety of factors and how you look at them. For a book with an unknown creative team and an unproven concept, lasting 12 issues is a sign of victory. However, when you are a big name on a hugely hyped book that was launched as an offshoot of a major event, lasting only 12 issues can raise a few eyebrows.[Continued]
