One of the cornerstones of the 20th century pop-cultural landscape is Star Wars. The trials and tribulations of the Skywalker family, entrenched in a richly textured science fiction universe, continue to capture the hearts and imaginations of young and old alike, well into the 21st century.

The latest result of Lucas’ continuing fascination with the world of the arts is the hardcover landscape art book Star Wars: Visions, which brings a select group of artists together with the task of putting to canvas their view on the Star Wars universe. Handpicked by George Lucas himself together with Executive Editor of Lucasfilm, J.W. Rinzler, the talent involved puts on display a broad range of artistic styles: comic artists, illustrators, classical painters, avant garde, Americana, futurism, Italian renaissance and so on. From classical portraits to heroic posturing, from magnificent landscapes to action driven paintbrush techniques.
