WARNING: WORLD WAR HULK SPOILERS AHEAD!
Andre Gustavo de Assis Vieira: Please, forgive my poor English. I´m studying the language yet. My name is Andre and I´m from Brazil. I´ve some doubts about “World War Hulk.” I can´t even sleep because those doubts [laughs]. First, Sentry have released REALLY a power of 1 million exploding suns against Hulk or it was a hyperbole? If yes, why the earth was not destroyed with so great power?
Greg Pak: I think the "power of a million exploding suns" catchphrase first appeared on the faux Marvel Comics "Startling Stories" comic book cover depicted on page five of the first Sentry miniseries, which seemed to be very consciously channeling that tongue-in-cheek, Silver Age vibe. So yes, a bit of hyperbole might be involved here. Then again, maybe it's all true -- but it's the power of a million extremely tiny suns?
AGdAV: Second, in the last moments, when Hulk released his real fury, causing massive destruction and blowing energy from his body, who could stop it? I meant, what heroes could stop it? Superman, maybe?
GP: With all due respect to the Distinguished Competition, I don't think even Superman would stand a chance. In the end, only the Hulk himself could provide the opening that Iron Man needed to end the madness.
Eric: Are you planning on keeping Amadeus' dog in his stories? A few of Amadeus' pictures on your site seemed to have left the little dude out. Being a HUGE fan of your work on the Hulk as well as a big animal nut, I hope to see that little guy around for a while. Though he doesn't have a huge part in the story, he definitely adds something awesome to the frames he is in!
GP: Thanks for the kind words, Eric, and yeah, I love that li'l coyote, too. In the scripts, I'll often ask the artists to give the pup the same expression Amadeus has at any given moment, and it always cracks me up to see how they play with it. So I'm happy to report that the pup plays a pretty shocking role in "Incredible Hercules" #114 and #115, so add 'em to your pull list, coyote fans! (And see below for a sneak peek of Incredible Hercules #114.)
Mitchel: I've read Khoi Pham is leaving "Incredible Hercules" to become the "Mighty Avengers" regular penciler. I think Ariel Olivetti would be awesome at drawing this series. I enjoyed his run in "Punisher War Journal" and his style would be a match made in heaven. Any chances of that?
GP: Ariel Olivetti is indeed an amazing artist and I'd love to work with him some day. But the next "Incredible Hercules" artist is the brilliant Rafa Sandoval, who's been penciling the gorgeous "Tales of the Warbound" backup stories in my "Warbound" miniseries. See below for a sneak peek at one of Rafa’s pages from “Warbound” #3, which hit stores on February 20. Rest assured, Herc's in great hands.
