    Pretty good first issue. I disagree that this doesn't have the stylized, slightly out of character Kevin Smith dialogue though. Some of it worked but I have a hard time with the Green Hornet saying "The hat is PIMP!" Other than a few distracting moments like that, I enjoyed it and am anxious to see where Smith's movie would have gone from here.

    This was pretty awesome. Good story, great action, lots of nods to the comics, and cameos galore. I agree that James Woods and Gina Torres were perfect. I didn't really like William Baldwin as Batman though. Partly, yes, it's his non-Conroy-ness (it's hard for me to hear anyone else as Batman after all these years) but it's also that the voice isn't deep or imposing enough. For instance, Jeremy Sisto made a good Batman in The New Frontier and I didn't mind the lack of Conroy. Other than that small gripe, I really enjoyed this.

    I like the show so far but they really need to flesh out these characters a bit more if it's going to evolve beyond a fluffy but fun action show. They've been giving a few hints here and there regarding backstory so I'm hopeful.

    FH, I don't think that's what "pet-peeve" means. However, intriguing news. I'm still not really a Bendis fan but Brubaker's take on the Avengers might be worth checking out.

    Sidebar for anyone curious -- Iris survived her apparent murder, also via time travel. That's right, Barry, his wife, and his arch-enemy have all been dead, resurrected, and bounced through time. Don't ya love comics?

    Tyler, I feel your pain. I was all set to release a graphic novel with AC Comics but orders were so low, they wouldn't even cover AC's production costs, let alone the Diamond minimum. I really fear for indie and small press publishers these days (and I'm ashamed that with my own budget concerns, I don't do more to support them). It's good that Diamond has slightly amended their policy but it's still a really tough market out there.

    I like the show as well but have not read much of the comics. I've seen Chance in a few Detective Comics backup stories but that's about it. Might have to check out this mini or the Milligan stuff.

    Yeah, I'm not sure that Nolan and Goyer's sensibilities would fit with Superman. But as I didn't care for Superman Returns, I am ready for a fresh approach.

    I guess I hadn't been paying attention because I didn't see the Man in Black/Smoke Monster connection coming. That was definitely the highlight of this episode. Very intrigued to see where they go with these parallel timelines. My assumption is that it's all caused by a paradox -- the Island wasn't there for them to crash on due to the bomb but because of this, they weren't there to set off the bomb in the first place. Ergo, reality is broken.
