Marvel is proud to congratulate NEIL GAIMAN, ANDY KUBERT and RICHARD ISANOVE the winners of the first annual Quill Award for Best Graphic Novel.

Written by Hugo award-winning author Neil Gaiman with art by acclaimed ORIGIN team ANDY KUBERT and RICHARD ISANOVE, Marvel 1602 is a time-bending mystery that looks at an age of super-heroes prematurely begun 400 years in the past.  The hardcover and trade paperback graphic novels have been incredibly well received by both fans and critics alike.  Marvel Editor-In-Chief   Joe Quesada says on behalf of Marvel, “Congrats go off of to Neil, Andy, Richard, Scott and Todd for a brilliant piece of work and of course Nick Lowe, Nanci Quesada, Kelly Lamy and everyone else involved with the project.  This is truly a first and an honor for all of us here at Marvel!”

Look for the sequel, Marvel 1602: New World, written by Greg Pak (X-Men: Phoenix Endsong) with art by Greg Tocchini (Thor Son of Asgard) to hit the shelves in late 2005.

To watch this awards show, be sure and check your local listings for Saturday, October 22 when it is scheduled to run on NBC.
