Zack Snyder’s 300 remains at the top of the box-office charts for the second weekend in a row. The movie brought in $31.1 million, raising its total gross to $127.4 million.

The film’s continued dominance is especially stunning considering the drop in attendance because of March Madness, the NCAA college basketball tourney, and St. Patrick’s Day.

300 not only had the top per-theatre of any movie in the box office top 10 (at $9,537) and shined again on IMAX screens as well, bringing in $2.6 on that market.

Expect the success story to continue next weekend as well, when the movie makes it into a new wave of theatres overseas, including France, Spain, Italy, Belgium, the UK, and Mexico. Looking at the trend being set in other international markets (Turkey, South Korea, Greece and Thailand, to name a few), 300 is on par with or better than the performances of Troy and The Last Samurai. Both movies topped $300 million oversees.

‘300 Tops $300 Million Overseas’? Sounds like a headline in the making.
