ACTION COMICS #827, the first issue by the new creative team of writer Gail Simone and artists John Byrne & Nelson, has sold out at DC Comics just five days after arriving in stores on May 11.
“I’m really excited by all the amazing buzz for this book,” says Simone. “I received a ton of positive letters from retailers, and I think it just proves that people love to see John Byrne draw Superman. And he does draw a GREAT Superman! Can’t wait for people to see the issues coming up! Thanks to VP — Executive Editor, DCU Dan DiDio and Group Editor Eddie Berganza for giving me a chance to work on this character with this art team!”
“The new ACTION team hit the ground running, and we’ve seen a great response to their work,” says Bob Wayne, DC’s VP — Sales. “We urge retailers to stock up on upcoming issues now.”
Upcoming issues of ACTION COMICS are available as follows:
• ACTION COMICS #828 (APR050320) is available for advance reorder and is scheduled to arrive in stores on June 8.
• ACTION COMICS #829 (MAY050214) is solicited in the May Previews (Volume XV #5) and is scheduled to arrive in stores on July 13.
Please note that DC has no plan to go back to press on this issue at this time.

LEX LUTHOR: MAN OF STEEL #2, the second issue of the amazing 5-part miniseries written by Brian Azzarello and illustrated by Lee Bermejo, has sold out at DC Comics.
“This just goes to show that people really are interested in different takes on classic characters,” says Bermejo. “I guess it really IS time to root for the bad guy!”
“The moody art and story in this miniseries have struck a chord with fans and retailers,” says Bob Wayne, DC’s VP — Sales. “We suggest that retailers check their orders on the remaining issues to be sure they’ll have enough copies in stock.”
LEX LUTHOR: MAN OF STEEL #3 (MAR050387) is in stores now and available for reorder.
LEX LUTHOR: MAN OF STEEL #4 (APR050321) is available for advance reorder and is scheduled to arrive in stores on June 8.
LEX LUTHOR: MAN OF STEEL #5 (MAY050218) is solicited in the May Previews (Volume XV #5) and is scheduled to arrive in stores on July 7.
Please note that DC has no plan to go back to press on this issue at this time.
