ALIAS Comics announced today that it plans to continue expanding its diverse line of comic books and graphic novels well into the fall.
“Our schedule is falling into place, and things have been picking up steam over the last month,” said Brett Burner, President and Publisher of ALIAS Comics. “We had a very strong showing with our launch in May, and we wound up as one of the top 20 publishers in the industry for the month, with three titles in the top 300.”
"The funny thing is that these numbers only partially reflect our success,” said Burner. “Two of our debut titles hit shelves with a cover price of 75 cents, and they would have wound up in the top 150 based upon their sales. If you look at our share of the market by units, we were actually very close to being one of the top 10 publishers for May.”
In helping to grow ALIAS’s presence in the publishing industry, added Burner, the ALIAS Enterprises has developed a special line of books under its "CROSS CULTURE COMICS" division to be sold in the Christian booksellers market. The first title for this lineup, DAVID’S MIGHTY MEN, has enjoyed sales comparable to those of the top 5 in the comic book direct market. Other titles planned for this year are projected to sell even higher numbers as the CROSS CULTURE brand is established.
“As our line of books expands and as we continue to build a market presence, I’m confident ALIAS will consistently be one of the top ten companies in the industry by this time next year.”
“Which means,” Burner concluded, “our readers have a lot to look forward to over the next year as ALIAS continues to launch some killer titles!”
