After three months and after launching over two dozen new titles into the comic book market, ALIAS Comics has been recognized twice as one of the industry’s top 20 publishers and recognized as an emerging force in the world of comics.
And now ALIAS Comics reports that its main distributor, Diamond, has sold out of its overstock supply of eleven of its summer titles.
“We’re absolutely blown away by our success this summer,” said Mike S. Miller, President of ALIAS Comics. “We expected to attract some interest from readers with our diverse lineup of books, but we had no idea that we would sell out of so many titles so quickly. It’s really humbling to see how great the demand for our books is!”
The sold-out titles include DAVID: THE SHEPHERD’S SONG #1, THE DREAMLAND CHRONICLES #2, ELSINORE #1 and 2, THE LEGEND OF ISIS #1 and 2, LETHAL INSTINCT #1, PAKKINS’ LAND #1 and 2, XIII #1, 10th MUSE #1, and the OZF5: GALE FORCE Graphic Novel. Additionally, several more ALIAS titles will likely be sold out by the end of the month.
ALIAS, Miller assures, is doing everything it can to fill any remaining orders placed for sold-out titles, and plans are already in place to try and ensure the continued availability of these and future ALIAS titles. ALIAS also encourages retailers to place desired re- orders for out of stock books as soon as possible; "If we have to go back to print," said Miller, "we can set those print runs early and get those books into their hands as quickly as possible."
“What’s really interesting about this situation,” added Miller, “is that only a few of the titles that have sold out so far have been part of our 75 cent promotion. This means that we’re not selling out of our books because we priced them so low – we’re selling out of books across the board because readers enjoy their quality and diversity. That’s great news for us, because it means we’ll be able to continue doing what we set out to do when we launched in May – offer a little bit of something for anyone.”
“Or, as we like to say,” said Miller with a smile, “‘Comics for Every Age.’”
