Academy Award-nominated actress Angela Bassett (What’s Love Got to Do with It, How Stella Got Her Groove Back) will play government agent Amanda Waller, PhD, in Warner Bros.’ Green Lantern, Variety reports.
Shooting on the anticipated DC Comics film, helmed by Casino Royale director Martin Campbell, recently started in New Orleans. Other cast members include Ryan Reynolds (Hal Jordan/Green Lantern), Mark Strong (Sinestro), Peter Sarsgaard (Hector Hammond), Tim Robbins (Senator Hammond) and Temuera Morrison (Abin Sur).
Green Lantern is scheduled for release June 17, 2011.
