Ape Entertainment is pleased to announce the addition of THE FABLEWOOD ANTHOLOGY, a collection of classic fantasy stories presented in graphic novel format, to its publishing lineup. FABLEWOOD compiles the talents of newcomers like Chris Studabaker (Howard E. Day Prize nominee), J.P. Ahonen (Flight 4) and Kevin Crossley (Event Horizon) with up-and-comers like Ryan Ottley (Invincible) and Manny Trembley (Sam Noir).
“Growing up with books like A Wizard of Earthsea, The Hobbit, and the Dragonlance Chronicles, I have always had a love for mythology. Recent films like the Lord of the Rings Trilogy and Princess Mononoke have stirred my nostalgia for the classics of the fantasy genre,” says anthology creator William Ward. “These are the kind of stories FABLEWOOD is bringing together.”
FABLEWOOD protagonists present a wide range of both classic and uniquely modern heroes, from the ancient Greek hero Achilles to a shadow striving for the impossible dream of seeing the sun. Keeping with the original goals of the creators, FABLEWOOD will continue to accept submissions under the Ape Entertainment banner for several months.
“When anthologies find a publisher often they close their doors” notes Ape Entertainments Co-Publisher and General Partner Brent E. Erwin, “It is a credit to the project that despite already looking great, they are still opening their doors to newcomers.”
THE FABLEWOOD ANTHOLOGY currently contains over 100 full-color pages of completed stories, and will be accepting submissions until July 10th, 2008. For more information, visit http://www.fablewoodcomic.com/
