Spike TV's SCREAM Awards 2006, the 1st Annual Televised Event Celebrating Horror, Sci-Fi, Fantasy And Comic Books will be premiering Tuesday, October the 10th and DYNAMITE ENTERTAINMENT is honored to be up for an award!

The Categories and Nominations were announced at this past week’s Comic-Con in San Diego and DYNAMITE’s ARMY OF DARKNESS comic book series is up for a “BEST SCREEN-TO-COMIC ADAPTATION”!

“We’re honored of course, and very excited about just being nominated,” stated DYNAMITE SPOKESPERSON J. ALLEN. “and on behalf of the entire creative team, especially writer James  Kuhoric and all the AOD artists from Nick Bradshaw to Kevin Sharpe and all those that have worked so hard on AOD including colorists Kevin Sneft, Etienne St-Laurent, Jim Charalampidis and letterer Bill Torillini.  And we couldn’t have done it without the hard work of our friends at MGM – special thanks to Jon Rosenberg, Tricia Samuels, Karol Mora and Albert J. Park.”

Ballots were sent out to Spike TV's SCREAM Awards 2006 Advisory Board, made up of respected and well-known members of the horror, sci-fi, fantasy and comic book worlds, and were responsible for advising on categories and determining nominees in each category. All films, television shows and comic books were deemed eligible for inclusion if they were released between June 1, 2005 to July 8, 2006 and were representative of the genres listed. Winners will be determined by viewer voting.

Members of this year's advisory board included: Wes Craven (writer/director A Nightmare on Elm Street); David S. Goyer (screenwriter, Batman Begins); Geoff Johns (comic book writer, Green Lantern); R. Eric Lieb (Comic book writer, Saw: Rebirth); Brian Pulido ("Lady Death"); Judd Winick (executive producer/creator, The Life and Times of Juniper Lee); Jonathan Woods (Storyboard artist, Team America: World Police); and Rob Zombie (writer/director, House of 1,000 Corpses).

Armed with the boom stick and chainsaw Ash gives the blood suckers a taste of 21st century chutzpah. When Sugarbaby is turned into one of Dracula's concubine, Ash discovers that a whack-job monster hunter may be his only chance to save the save the girl and his own soul. When the Necronomicon rears its blood inked head all hell breaks loose sending Ash on a time traveling snipe hunt to find the sole holy artifact capable of permanently killing the Prince of Vampires once and for all!
