Bad Planet #1 fired the opening shot from Raw Entertainment - a joint venture between actor Thomas Jane (The Punisher) and writer Steve Niles (30 Days of Night) to present the best in bleeding-edge horror and science fiction. After overwhelmingly positive response, Bad Planet was devastated by a catastrophic medical emergency causing an unavoidable delay. Now, a year-and-a-half after the release of the first issue, Raw and Image have brought Bad Planet back with a vengeance! With the next four issues drawn and ready to go, Bad Planet #2 will be hitting stores July 18th and taking no prisoners.
"Our penciler, Lewis Larosa, had to drop out due to illness. It killed us to delay the book, but we needed to find the perfect guy to fill Larosa's shoes," explains co-writer Jane. "We found him in James Daly, who not only fills Larosa's shoes - he splits them at the seams and breaks the laces!"
Readers can rest assured that the six-issue miniseries won't disappoint. Legendary cover artist Tim Bradstreet (The Punisher, Hellblazer) returns to ink Bad Planet's new artist James Daly's nightmarish pencil-work, along with colorist Grant Goleash. In fact, the covers of Bad Planet feature a formidable stable of artists, including Tim B. Wrightson, Mark Shultz, Michael Wm. Kaluta, and Dave Stevens. If that weren't enough, Niles and Jane have enlisted industry veteran Ray Zone to create 14 pages of 3-D effects for the third issue.
Niles remains equally enthusiastic about the return of Bad Planet . "I'm really excited. I'm not going to lie - I thought all was lost for a moment there. But, Tom and Tim have really pulled out all the stops and put together a beautiful series. I'm really proud of what we've done here."
With Bad Planet's long awaited return, readers can expect six months of uninterrupted mayhem from Raw. Jane explains, "This time around, I decided to get the whole series penciled and in the can before soliciting. So, we won't have any trouble with continuity! It's important to us to establish a good reputation with the retailers. We want them to know that our books will ship on time."
Shipping in July is the next chapter of Bad Planet . It's a sci-fi thriller the likes of which haven't been seen since the glory days of science fiction comics. The human race stands powerless against the monsters that would prey on it like cattle and use Earth as a macabre breeding ground. At our darkest hour, a lone alien warrior may be our only salvation.
Bad Planet #2 hits stores in July 18th. It is a full color 32 page comic with a cover price of $2.99. It is available through Diamond Previews (MAY071866). Bad Planet #3 will hit stores August 15th.
