Batman's first appearance was in a 1939 comic book, Detective Comics #27.
Superman's first appearance was in a 1938 comic book, Action Comics # 1.
Yes, Superman came first, but Batman kicks Superman’s butt every time.
Yesterday, a copy of Detective Comics #27 fetched $1.075 million, a record-setting sale which comes hot on the heels of Monday’s auction that a saw a copy of Action Comics #1 being sold for $1 million.
The auction was held via Heritage Auction Galleries in Dallas, Texas.
