Chris McCay, critically acclaimed writer of The Confessional (Warpton Comics 2004), is launching his new ongoing series ALPHA OMEGA.
The first issue of the new series will debut this weekend at the Baltimore Comic-Con (Sept. 17-18). The series follows the road to war between Heaven and Hell, as Lucifer gears up for the final assault on Heaven. To stop him, all the angels of Heaven's Army have been sent to Earth to do battle. The catch? They have to choose to fight, and if so for which side.
"I love the concept of Free Will as a catalyst for massive events," says writer Chris McCay. "I've been fascinated by the concepts of religion and faith for some time now, and I wanted to find a way to add those elements into a 'traditional' good-guy v. bad-guy superhero comic." Here the good-guys are the Arch-Angels, who will ultimately decide the course of the war as Heaven's Generals. And the bad-guys are the demons and fallen angels of Hell, lead by none other than The Devil himself. "Be prepared for a few shakeups though," McCay says. "None of the roles of either side should be taken for granted."
Alpha Omega is a black and white comic that will be released bi-monthly. The art chores are being expertly handled by the Atelier Schwandt studio in Germany, with Wolfgang Schwandt on Pencils and Klaus Schwandt on Inks. Cover price is $2.50, and the book will be made available for on-line orders after the Comic-Con.
