Deborah Tucci, wife of 2011 Eisner Award Nominee Billy Tucci, has been heroically fighting Breast Cancer for the past year. She’s endured three major surgeries, aggressive chemotherapy, and medication. During that time, the Judi Shesh Memorial Foundation played a huge supportive role in getting the Tucci family through their ordeal. Now the Tucci’s hope to “pay if forward” with not one, but two limited edition lithographs featuring Billy’s iconic heroine, Ana Ishikawa, to raise breast cancer awareness.
Debuting at Comic Con International in San Diego this week, proceeds from “Life Walk” and “Resolution” will benefit the Judi Shesh Memorial Foundation. This group is a not-for-profit organization pursuant to Section 501(C)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code that reaches out to the community and help families affected by breast cancer through the "Families in Need" benefaction. They also maintain a beneficiary relationship with both the Islip Breast Cancer Coalition and Cold Spring Harbor Labs, in pursuit of the common goal of discovery of the cure for breast cancer. As a Foundation, their mission is clear -- to raise money for Breast Cancer Research and assist Breast Cancer Charities in their community.
“I was incredibly touched and stunned by the wonderful generosity and support afforded to my family from the friends of Judi Shesh”. Stated artist Billy Tucci, who hopes “that we can use comic books as a way to shed some light on our real heroes, the millions of beautiful women fighting cancer everyday, and the amazing people at the Judi Shesh Memorial Foundation who are forever by their side!
Limited to only 399 editions each, both “Life Walk” and “Resolution” are gloriously reproduced on fine Howard linen paper, and measure 11" X 17". All prints are signed and numbered by Billy and are priced at $24.99.
If you cannot make it to Comic Con, prints are available for purchase on eBay, at http://stores.ebay.com/crusadefinearts.
