Broken Frontier

In August, the comic world saw the release of the new comic series from Speakeasy Comics, OF BITTER SOULS #1.  The series is created and written by Chuck Satterlee and drawn by industry legend Norm Breyfogle (Batman, Detective Comics, Prime), and enjoyed relatively good first issue numbers for a small press book.

It also sold out at Diamond in less then one week’s time.

Since there has been no second printing as of yet, and in preparation for the second issue’s release next Wednesday, Satterlee and Speakeasy Comics have released a pdf file containing the entire first issue for anyone to download and read for free. 

“We have received some wonderful reviews from a lot of sources”, said Satterlee.  “It is my hope to reach as many comic book readers as I can through this free release.  Maybe, if readers like OF BITTER SOULS #1, they will purchase OBS #2.”

The free pdf for OF BITTER SOULS #1 will be available for download from September 9 to September 19.  After that, the pdf will be removed.

If the comic readers out there like what they see, Satterlee simply asks that they request future copies of OF BITTER SOULS.  Issues 2-4 have been solicited and are still available.  And who knows, if there are enough re-orders for Issue #1, there might even be a reprinting.

Satterlee also released a six page preview for OF BITTER SOULS #2, which will be in stores on September 14th.  Currently his other Speakeasy title, SMOKE & MIRROR #1, hit comic book stores today and is enjoying brisk sales.  Also included for preview are the covers for issues 3-5 for OF BITTER SOULS.
