One of the things comic fans love most about the Archie line of comics is the variety of characters that populate the Archie “universe.” Over the years, many memorable characters have wandered into and out of the hallowed halls of Riverdale High. Recent additions to the beloved cast have included such popular personalities as Brigitte Reilly, Ginger Lopez, and Archie’s rival for Betty’s affections, Adam.
Recently, another new character was introduced, an eccentric yet attractive girl who polarized both the girls and guys of Riverdale High. Veronica viewed her as a potential threat for Archie’s attention, while Betty embraced her quirky creativity. The boys all thought she was gorgeous, but there was just one none-too-small problem: she’s Mr. Weatherbee’s niece!
Yes, Wendy “Double W” Weatherbee is back by popular demand… and she still can’t find a date! That’s because even though it’s summer, the boys are still afraid of crossing “Uncle” Weatherbee. Luckily, Wendy isn’t your average Betty, Veronica, or Midge-next door… her quirky style and eccentric nature are just the thing to attract Riverdale’s resident crowned one, Jughead! This puts Jug under the scrutiny of not only Mr. Weatherbee, but his long-time admirer, Ethel Muggs as well! This makes summer anything but relaxing for the king of cool! Will this be the start of a long-term romance for the crowned-one, or yet another brief romance (Joani and January), grudging admiration (Trula Twist), or of course, unrequited love (Ethel)?! Find out, in the hilarious story, “Double W. Trouble” from JUGHEAD & FRIENDS DIGEST #12!
JUGHEAD & FRIENDS DIGEST #12, ships 6/21. Full color digest format, $2.49 US. SCRIPT AND ART: Fernando Ruiz.
