The TRANSFOMERS make landfall on CYBERTRON this July with The TRANSFORMERS: Stormbringer. The whirlwind creative team that unleashed BEAST WARS: The Gathering, Simon Furman and Don Figueroa return the home world of the “ROBOTS IN DISGUISE” with gale force.
This is series that TRANSFORMERS fans have been clamoring for—cover-to-cover, no-holds-barred, giant robot action on an epic scale! So far, in The TRANSFORMERS: Infiltration, there have been tantalizing hints about the state of play elsewhere in the TRANSFOMERS universe. Now it is time to return to where it all began, CYBERTRON itself. A dark, dark chapter of the planet’s history is unlocked—a chapter that will impact the AUTOBOTS and DECEPTICONS with the might of an unrelenting tempests.
“No UNICRON, no UNICRON. That was my mantra. Stormbringer had to be fresh, exciting and, most importantly, feature a ‘big bad’ that wasn’t the TRANSFORMERS franchise’s ever-reliable, planet devouring nemesis,” declares Stormbringer scribe Simon Furman. “But then, change and innovation have been the watchwords of the IDW TRANSFORMERS line, the intent always to create something fresh and accessible. That’s as true for Stormbringer as it is for Infiltration and the upcoming Escalation, and so… expect the unexpected, take nothing for granted. We’re back on CYBERTRON, sure, but boy have things changed… and not for the better. Expect big action, lots of giant robots and, yes, planet-shaking events. But no UNICRON.”
The TRANSFORMERS: Stormbringer #1, the first issue of an all-new TRANSFORMERS 4-issue miniseries, premieres in July 2006 with a 32-page full-color comic book with a suggested cover price of $2.99.
