Markosia Enterprises has signed the critically acclaimed comic book series Brodie’s Law.
Brodie’s Law, written by veteran comic book scribe Alan Grant, has been a massive success for its creators David Bircham and Daley Osiyemi, and the series has already created a much deserved buzz within the comic industry and community.
The first volume of the trade paperback has seen several printings with 500 copies of the trade paper back sold at the 2005 San Diego Comicon alone.
The first six issues of Brodie’s Law have completely sold out and it has become a hot property. A Hollywood based studio is working with Bircham and Osiyemi on a script for a feature length live-action movie, and according to the creators screenwriter Kirsten Elms (SONIC) has adapted the comic book for feature director Renny Harlin (DIE HARD 2, CLIFFHANGER, DEEP BLUE SEA) and plans are in the works to shoot the film this year.
The series will continue from issue seven at Markosia and will be available in June 2006 through Diamond Comic Distributors. That same month, along with several of the Chimaera Studios trade paper backs, a brand new printing of the 144 page Brodie’s Law trade paper back will be made available with additional concept artwork from Bircham.
Harry Markos, MD and owner of Markosia comments on the signing of Brodie’s Law.
“We are very excited with the signing of Brodie’s Law, and I am very confident that working with David and Daley will be a very exciting and fruitful relationship. Markosia will be working hard to get the TPB into the book-shop market in the US and here in the UK where we have recently teamed up with one of the largest UK chain stores who is keen to carry all of our TPB’s and bookshelf format graphic novels”.
“Brodie’s Law is, without doubt, one of the most groundbreaking comic book series to come out of the UK for the past decade and it shows that a great story can be appreciated the world over. David and Daley’s work ethic is second to none and when you see the hours of work they have put into this series you can see that they love what they are doing “.
