Marvel Studios’ The First Avenger: Captain America will start filming on June 28, Production Weekly reports on its Twitter page.
The Joe Johnston film will star Chris Evans as Captain America, Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter, Sebastian Stan as Bucky and Hugo Weaving as Red Skull. Set during World War II, the film will revolve around Steve Rogers, a young soldier who signs up for a top-secret government program that transforms him into the titular Star-Spangled Avenger.
The First Avenger: Captain America hits U.S. theaters July 22, 2011.
