DYNAMITE ENTERTAINMENT released images and information today showcasing Highlander #8 and the continuation of "The Dark Quickening", the next dramatic Highlander story arc featuring both Immortal fan favorite Highlanders -- Connor and Duncan MacLeod. Scheduled for release in May, Highlander #8 is written by Brandon Jerwa with interior art by Fabio Laguna and covers by Dave Dorman, Pat Lee, Michael Avon Oeming and David Michael Beck!
"You're stronger than this, Connor. I don't care what kind of evil you absorbed from the Kurgan… You defeated him then, and you can defeat him now!"-- Duncan MacLeod from Highlander #8
About the release of Highlander #8, Dynamite exclaimed, "The first Highlander story arc picked up shortly after the first film and spanned the last half of the twentieth century; Connor Macleod traveled the globe in an attempt to stop the terrorist actions of super soldiers engineered with Immortal DNA and hell-bent on carrying out the Kurgan's plan for domination. This story allowed writers Michael Avon Oeming and Brandon Jerwa to not only tie the comic series to the movie, but also demonstrate the influence and strengthen the threat that the Immortals pose to the world if left unchecked.
With ‘The Dark Quickening', writer Brandon Jerwa is bringing back the evil of the Kurgan once more by exploring the consequences of Connor's Quickening from his defeat of the Kurgan. Fans are going to lose their heads when they see Connor under the influence of the Kurgan and taking on Duncan."
Highlander scribe Brandon Jerwa gave fans some further insight to "The Dark Quickening", adding: "This arc is an open-and-shut story on its own, but it also ties into the bigger story we've been telling since issue # 0. The first story arc was a slow burn, but the gloves are off and I'm chopping heads! Connor and Duncan, the Old West, some familiar faces, ninja assassins, evil influences and a Dark Quickening - what else do you need?"
HIGHLANDER #8(MAR073347) BY BRANDON JERWA; ART BY FABIO LAGUNA; COVER ART BY: MICHAEL AVON OEMING, DAVID MICHAEL BECK, PAT LEE, AND DAVE DORMAN (SHIPPING IN EQUAL RATIO)!
Things heat up as the Dark Quickening has consumed Connor MacLeod's very being and the Immortal wages war with his very kin - Duncan MacLeod! Will the one cousin be able to prevent the other from taking his very head! Plus: More "flashbacks" to Connor and Duncan in the Old West!
