We’re celebrating 2005 by introducing a new line at Devil’s Due: Devil's Due Digests or as we're calling them, D3! As promised these delightful digest sized books are black and white, have a terrific low price point and oodles of content.
Devil’s Due originally started their company life as a small black and white publisher and they’re now coming full circle and embracing their roots. Kicking off the D3 line in January 2005 collected volumes of the cult favorite Patrick the Wolf Boy, and the Blaylock original, Misplaced. Both titles arrive on store shelves, priced at $10.95, with all new short stories included. Each digest ranges from 128 to 144 pages of content.
PATRICK THE WOLFBOY – (Writer: Franco Aureliani Artist: Art Baltazar) A hit across the convention circuits, and in development as an animated series, Devil’s Due is happy to have Patrick on board. This D3 collects the following: Patrick the Wolf Boy #1, Patrick the Wolf Boy: Christmas Special, Patrick the Wolf Boy: Valentine’s Special, Patrick the Wolf Boy: Mother's Day Special Summer Special and 25 pages of new Patrick stuff!
MISPLACED vol. I – (Writer/Artist: Josh Blaylock with Clint Hilinski) This collects the 4-issue story arc by Josh Blaylock and includes an all new 8 page story, production art, and more! With the Dead@17 crossover in December, and more Misplaced in the works for the future, this is the perfect time for new readers to jump aboard.
February and March bring us a nostalgic piece from the Blaylock archives and a brave step into the manga world for G.I. Joe. The die-hard old school fans of Devil’s Due Publishing will be excited to know that the Penguin Brothers are back, in the handy D3 format.
PENGUIN BROS. – (Writer& artist: Josh Blaylock) Self-published by the youthful Josh Blaylock in the mid-nineties, "PB" was a small press success across conventions nationwide, but never received mainstream exposure. Includes issues 1-3, the never-before-printed issue 4, and an all-new 8 page story and cover by Josh Blaylock. "Looking at these old pages makes it seem like this book was a lifetime ago," says Blaylock. I'm glad the comedy still holds up, and I'm glad a wider audience now gets a chance to experience their irreverence.!"
GI JOE: ARASHIKAGE SHOWDOWN - (Writer: Josh Blaylock Artist: Tony Tamai) As the last surviving links to the lineage of the Arashikage Ninja Clan, Snake-Eyes, Jinx, and Storm Shadow embark on an adventure to recover a mystical clan artifact long thought to be a myth. Focusing on action packed espionage and mystery, this is the BEST book for jumping into the G.I.Joe mythos. This is an ORIGINAL story, never before seen in any other format.
Says the writer, publisher, president, “It’s great to be back on a ‘Joe book. The characters welcomed me back, fortunately, and I was able to dive right into the story as if I’d never left. It’s even more exciting to have new format to present it in.”
By launching the new D3, Devil’s Due promises to continue its tradition of introducing cult favorites, blasts from the past, and inspired new adventures. All digests will be in black and white, heavy enough to hurt if you drop them, and all yours for $10.95! Keep watching those shelves for more titles to be announced in the future.
