Dabel Brothers Publishing announced today that they have reached an agreement with Paramount Licensing to produce Warriors posters using comic book art.

The first poster will feature art from issue #3 of The Warriors movie adaptation, painted by the ultra-talented, multiple Eisner award-winning creator of The Goon, Eric Powell.  The Baseball Furies poster will be a New York Comic Con exclusive item, and will be sold at the Dabel Brothers booth at the show.  Future posters will feature artwork from some of the best and brightest artists in the industry.

"Eric Powell's art captures the unique look and feel of this iconic Hollywood gang classic," said  Michael Corcoran, president, Paramount Consumer Products & Recreation Group,  "Dabel Brothers Publishing has a great appreciation and respect for the property, and we think fans will be very pleased by what they see!"

Also at New York Comic Con, which takes place February 4th-6th this year, Dabel Brothers will be launching the first issue of The Warriors comic book movie adaptation by David Atchison, Chris Dibari and Keiran Oats.  The issue will be available first at the show at the Dabel Brothers booth, and then shipped to comic book stores everywhere the following week.

"With 2009 being the 30th anniversary of the movie, we can't imagine a better time or place to debut the comic than New York City," says Dabel Brothers Business Manager, Rich Young.  "We've been extremely happy with the fantastic work our creative team has been doing on the book, as has Paramount, and we think that fans of the movie, as well as comic book fans in general, are really going to enjoy this book."

Plans are also already in the works for an original follow up series to The Warriors comic movie adaptation, which will chronicle the events that take place after the movie ends.

With a new clothing line from Marc Ecko, and a new interactive game in the works, as well as several other key Warriors licensees already on board, including Mezco Toys, you can expect to see the gang making a big comeback this year.

The Warriors tells the story of a New York gang of that same name, framed for killing a rival gang leader who tried to unite all gangs in the area.  The film chronicles their journey back to their home turf in Coney Island, traveling through hostile gang territory.
