Later this month, SKYE RUNNER #1 will arrive in stores with a bonus cover by Carlos D’Anda, joining the issue’s already-announced covers by Alé Garza & Richard Friend and Jim Lee & Richard Friend!
The newly added cover by D’Anda is just one of the covers WildStorm is adding to this fantastic new series written by Allen Warner and illustrated by Alé Garza & Richard Friend!
Future issues of this new fantasy/super-hero series will feature cover by other artists including J. Scott Campbell, Lee Bermejo and Arthur Adams!
Also, Jim Lee will provide special variant cover art to issues #2 and 3 in addition to his variant cover for issue #1!
“I’m super excited to see all the creative talent that’s come out to support SKYE RUNNER,” says Garza. “Every part of the creative team, from writer Allen Warner to inker extraordinaire Rich Friend, to the amazingly talented colorist Jim Charalampidis, have all tried our hardest on this book! You can’t find a bigger guy than Jim Lee to support your work, and we all appreciate it! Not only will we have all these cool covers, but my own covers for the first four issues connect for one big widescreen image, spotlighting each member of this cast! Hopefully everyone will see what we here at WildStorm are excited about and give SKYE RUNNER a shot!”
“I think Skye Runner is going to be the sleeper hit of 2006,” says Lee. “Alé is pulling out all the stops on the art, and Allen has created some fantastic, endearing characters. My hope is that by contributing variant covers to every issue, my fans will check out this book and see how much fun it is. SKYE RUNNER is the perfect blend of drama, fantasy and adventure.”
The D’Anda and Garza & Friend covers will feature an approximately 50/50 split on the SKYE RUNNER #1 Standard Edition (FEB060320). The Lee & Friend cover is available to qualifying retailers on the SKYE RUNNER #1 Variant Edition (FEB060321). Both editions are available now for advance reorder; retailers may order one copy of the Variant Edition for every ten copies of the Standard Edition ordered. This issue is scheduled to arrive in stores on April 26.
The SKYE RUNNER #2 Standard Edition (MAR060373) will feature covers by Campbell and Garza & Friend in an approximately 50/50 split. The Variant Edition will feature cover art by Lee & Friend; retailers may order one copy of the Variant Edition (FEB068107) for every ten copies of the Standard Edition ordered. This issue is solicited in the March Previews (Vol. XVI #3) and is scheduled to arrive in stores on May 24.
The SKYE RUNNER #3 Standard Edition (APR060279) will feature covers by Bermejo and Garza & Friend in an approximately 50/50 split. The Variant Edition will feature cover art by Lee & Friend; retailers may order one copy of the Variant Edition (FEB068108) for every ten copies of the Standard Edition ordered. This issue is solicited in the April Previews (Vol. XVI #4) and is scheduled to arrive in stores on June 28.
Please note that due to this change, DC Comics will make SKYE RUNNER #1 returnable at a later date. On issue #2, retailers may adjust their orders up or down on one time only from now through April 26. On issue #3, retailers may adjust their orders up or down on one time only from now through May 31.
