Comic book creator (13), writer-director (A Pack A Day), and publisher (TUMBLE CREEK PRESS) Dani Dixon, will be speaking at Comic-Con International 2009. The panel, entitled “The Antidote Trust,” kicks off Evening Programming on Thursday, July 23rd, the first full day of the sold-out Con.
The focus of the panel will be the role, the reach and the resources available to independent comic book creators. Dixon will share the stage with other other members of premier indie collective The Antidote Trust; Lance Stahlberg, Haven Distribution (www.havendistro.com); and entertainment attorney Paul Husband.
WHERE:
Comic-Con International
San Diego Convention Center
111 W. Harbor Dr.
San Diego, CA 92101
ROOM 5AB
WHEN:
Thursday, July 23, 2009
7:00 - 8:00 PM
With a current summer tour, a new national distributor, and several scheduled merchandise launches for the “13” series (trading cards, apparel, toys) Dixon hopes Thursday’s panel will allow her to impart as much valuable information as possible to fellow independent creators hoping to begin or expand their own franchises.
Dixon has spoken at a number of conventions this year, including Anime Los Angeles, where she announced that TUMBLE CREEK PRESS would make its first foray into manga and most recently AdventureCon 2009 (Knoxville, TN), where she walked aspiring new artists through the steps necessary to create their first professional portfolio. The three-day Knoxville Con was but one stop in 11 cities Dixon visited last month promoting her series “13”.
Throughout Comic-Con Dani Dixon, “13” and TUMBLE CREEK PRESS can be found at BOOTH #2806. For up to the minute updates follow her on twitter (http://twitter.com/tumblecreekprss)
