DC Announces Senior VP - Biz & Legal Affairs

Amy Genkins, formerly Senior Vice President, Business & Legal Affairs and General Counsel at Lifetime Entertainment Services, joins the DC Comics staff as Senior Vice President – Business and Legal Affairs, it was announced today by DC Comics President and Publisher, Paul Levitz.
At Lifetime Entertainment Services, Genkins provided comprehensive, pro-active legal, business affairs and strategy services to senior management in a variety of areas including Digital Media, Programming, Marketing and Public Affairs. She also managed the Legal Department and negotiated and drafted a wide-variety of dramatic and reality programming, digital media, and brand extension agreements.
Prior to that, Genkins worked at The Columbia House Company as Vice President, Deputy General Counsel, advising senior management on legal, business affairs and strategy issues. Before that, Genkins worked at Time Warner Trade Publishing, Inc. as Deputy General Counsel and in the Warner Communications Inc. legal department, where her clients included DC Comics.
“It’s a pleasure to be working with Amy again, and to have the benefit of her rich range of experiences since we last collaborated.” said Levitz. “With the DC properties at the height of success in a range of established media and exploding into applications for the new media world, we have a lot of exciting projects in progress, and look forward to her strengthening our terrific team.”
Genkins received her bachelor’s degree from Brown University and her Juris Doctor at Harvard Law School.
