This week, DC Comics unleashed the first issue of COUNTDOWN, a year-long weekly series headed by none other than superstar Paul Dini, the Emmy award-winning writer best known for his work on ABC’s television hit, Lost, and the classic Batman: The Animated Series. On COUNTDOWN, Dini will be joined by a cross-section of comics’ most talented writers and artists to bring this gripping and epic series to readers. This Thursday, Midtown Comics will host a signing with Dini at their Times Square location at 200 West 40th street, corner of 7th avenue from 5-7 PM.
Over the course of one year, COUNTDOWN will feature a cast of hundreds and showcase DC’s rich history by focusing on characters as diverse as longtime fan favorite (and Superman’s pal) Jimmy Olsen and cult sensation (and former Wonder Girl) Donna Troy. As he did with Lost, Justice League and Justice League Unlimited, Dini will balance character development, a large cast of characters, intrigue, suspense and, oh, yes, lots and lots of action. COUNTDOWN will be the comics event of the year.
COUNTDOWN will serve as the spine of the DC Universe for a year, with its events sending ripples and shockwaves through the rest of DC’s titles. Issue #51 hits shelves May 9th. The series will count down backwards, one number a week, until issue #0 is published in 2008.
The COUNTDOWN is on... So begins the end!
Don't miss Dini at Midtown on Thursday night.
