Devil’s Due Publishing reunites popular Hasbro properties G.I. JOE and TRANSFORMERS with G.I. JOE VS. TRANSFORMERS: THE ART OF WAR #1 (of 5) (JAN062978E), for release in March with three covers. Following in the wake of successful re-launches of G.I. JOE: AMERICA’S ELITE and TRANSFORMERS core titles, these enduring heroes and heroines find themselves once again at odds, with innocent lives hanging in the balance.
Writer Tim Seeley (Hack/Slash, G.I.JOE) joins artists Joe Ng and UDON Studios (Exalted, Street Fighter) for star-faring, explosive action! Art for issue #1 over A will be provided by Joe Ng and UDON Studios; cover B by Tim Seeley and Grafiksismik; and retailer incentive cover C by Don Figueroa and Sunder Raj. G.I. JOE VS. TRANSFORMERS: THE ART OF WAR #1 (of 5) (JAN062978E), a standard 32pg monthly comic book at $2.95, hitting stores in March. All 5 cover A's will connect to form one large UDON G.I.JOE VS. TRANSFORMERS: THE ART OF WAR image. G.I. JOE is under license from the Hasbro Properties Group, the intellectual property development arm of Hasbro, Inc. (NYSE: HAS)
“G.I. JOE VS. TRANSFORMERS: THE ART OF WAR will bring together everything that stalwart fans of these properties love,” noted DDP Senior Editor Mike O’Sullivan about the new mini-series, “but the book will feel fresh and accessible for new G.I. JOE and TRANSFORMER readers as well. In addition this title brings together two power house studios, UDON and DDP, who will bring the fans what they’ve been waiting for.”
Says writer Tim Seeley, “Writing these characters has the charm of meeting up with old friends; a pleasure, a privilege, but also a war! And this G.I. JOE and TRANSFORMERS reunion isn’t for the faint of heart! Expect nonstop action, and great characterization… Consider this the end-all, beat down of wars!”
