Soon, DARKCHYLDE fans new and old will be able to catch up with the accursed teen Ariel Chylde in DREAMS OF DARKCHYLDE VOL.1 from Image Comics. The Dreams series is collected for the first time with new art and cover by Randy Queen, and a special forward by legendary master of horror John Carpenter, who is on board to direct the film adaptation.
Ariel Chylde is a sweet-tempered girl with a terrifying secret: She can become the horrendous creatures from her many recurring nightmares. In DREAMS OF DARKCHYLDE VOL. 1, we go deeper into the real world ghosts that haunt her psychological terrain, when a fallen childhood friend returns as an angry poltergeist seeking Ariel's blood in a mad hunger for misguided revenge.
"2011 marks the 15th anniversary of Ariel Chylde,” says creator and artist Randy Queen. “So, it is with great joy this rare collection of Darkchylde material is made available for the first time in America with Image, and I'm thrilled to have John Carpenter's words open the volume. If you're an older fan, or newer fan, you'll find something fresh to discover in these haunted tales of the teen who can become the creatures from her nightmares!"
DREAMS OF DARKCHYLDE VOL.1 (APR110419), a 136-page full-color trade paperback, will be in stores on June 15th, for $16.99.
