From the creator of the 10th Muse comes the newest female group of unlikely heroes. Lonely high-schooler Karen Chugg just wanted a dog. Instead, she got three of the most powerful, deadliest and hippest robot bodyguards to hit the sleepy town of Westville.
The good news? Karen’s three robots quickly become her best friends. The bad news? Someone very high up, Oval Office high up, wants those robots back. And he won’t stop at anything.
”Bluewater is great at creating strong independent females such as Legend of Isis, Victoria’s Secret Service and 10th Muse ” stated Bluewater publisher Darren G. Davis.
Gearz is a new title that we are excited to have written by Dan Rafter and drawn by Thiago Silva and inked by Jean Daniel. Rantz (Jason and the Argonauts/Legend of Isis) will be drawing the covers for this title. This book have a little DC Comics Metal Men and mixed with the hit TV show Ugly Betty .
Writer Dan Rafter said, "the story is about Karen Chugg’s, an unpopular kid at school who suddenly finds three cool robots on her doorstep. Lauren goes from being practically invisible to being part of the 'in' crowd. This book is fun because it has everything: lots of action, lots of comedy and even a little bit of drama. I think we can identify with Lauren, who struggles with the fact that her newfound popularity isn't due to anything that she's done. Of course, there's also chemically enhanced monsters, a corrupt president of the United States and a half-mad assassin robot programmed to destroy Lauren's new metal buddies."
Can an ordinary, if slightly unpopular, teen survive killer robots, super-powered school custodians, snotty classmates, chemically boosted monsters and hooded assassins while staying on track to become class valedictorian? Karen Chugg’s about to find out.
To order Gearz go to the new issue of PREVIEWS: DIAMOND CODE APR08 3617
