The red-hot popularity of the Luna Brothers' GIRLS continues as both the 2nd printing of GIRLS #1 and the first printing of GIRLS #2 have both sold out at Diamond! As with issue #1, GIRLS #2 was supported by a 25% overship to retailers as well as Image's standard overprint.
“GIRLS selling out for the second time is quite an amazing thing for us," said co-creator Jonathan Luna. "We would like to thank both the fans and retailers for supporting our book. We love meeting both at the cons we go to, and they are so uplifting.”
Image is going back to print on both issues. The third printing of GIRLS #1 will feature a sketch version of the second printing cover. Meanwhile the second printing of GIRLS #2 will feature an all-new cover by Jonathan Luna!
“We also hope the fans enjoy the new covers that come with the new printings. Josh and I had a blast creating them,” said Jonathan Luna.
GIRLS is about an average guy named Ethan Daniels who's never had much luck with women. Until he meets an unnamed mystery girl, that is, and he soon discovers, she is no ordinary girl. Like most women, she holds secrets beyond his understanding. But in this case, those secrets might end up impacting not just Ethan's future, but that of the whole world. GIRLS is an ongoing monthly series for mature readers with a definitive ending in mind
"Never in our wildest dreams did we imagine a response like this," said Joshua Luna, "and with only two issues in, we've really only scratched the surface. Readers can expect some major twists and turns as the book progresses, so if you think things are crazy now, you definitely need to see where this story is heading. Plus, I think a lot of people can relate to a "boy meets girl" type of story."
The new printings of GIRLS #1 (MAY058099) and GIRLS #2 (MAY058098) are available now for orders - your local retailer can contact their Diamond Customer Service Representative for ordering. GIRLS #3 (MAY051558) is in stores July 20th.
