The Garden State’s largest comic book convention is adding a little high-powered celestial punch for fans attending their July show, with a limited edition Michael Golden Fantastic Four poster.
Super Megashow’s "Comicfest" selected this eye-popping piece featuring the FF in peril at the hands of Doctor Doom, as a fitting tie-in with the recently released Fantastic Four movie. Along with a tip of the hat to Marvel legend Jack Kirby as well, the piece was created exclusively by comics icon Michael Golden right down to Michael’s signature color work.
Known for his mind-boggling and influential work on The 'Nam, Micronauts, G.I. Joe, and Dr. Strange, among much more, as well as being the co-creator of Rogue from the X-Men. Golden’s work can also currently be seen on covers for Iron Man, Hero for Hire, and Classic Battlestar Galactica.
In addition, there is a wellspring of new material on the horizon for all those hungry Michael Golden art fans. Be looking for the Vanguard Productions hardcover art book, Excess: The Art of Michael Golden, this fall, as well as TwoMorrows Modern Masters in the Studio book and DVD, scheduled for summer release. Not to leave ‘em out, Creator Chronicles is also releasing a two disc Golden interview later this year.
Those that order advance Super ComicFest tickets will all receive the limited edition FF convention poster. Only 1,500 are ever being created, so show organizers encourage everyone to call now.
Super ComicFest takes place July 21 and 22nd. Go to: www.supermegashow.com for more details. For information on Michael Golden and his work, contact: evaink@aol.com
