Known for his recent work on Marvel’s X-Men characters, and currently working on a Green Lantern project for DC Comics as well as Phantom work for Moonstone, artist Steve Scott also conjured up some of his unique magical illustration work for charity at the recent AdventureCon in Pigeon Forge!
Live from the Grand Resort Hotel and Convention Center, this past October, Steve of course was on hand to sketch and sign. But in addition to that, he brought some mystical surprises to the table in honor of Adventurecon’s blood drive and charity magic show, with his rendition of renowned magician Terry Evanswood ala Doctor Strange!
The piece of Terry as the good doctor become the bases for the shows exclusive poster which was signed by both Steve and Terry at a special session, with the poster also being presented to Evanswood on stage at his mind-blowing charity magic show. If that wasn't enough, the homage also graced the blood drive t-shirt--all proceeds going to the MEDIC Regional Blood Center.
Other talent joining Steve at AdventureCon in Pigeon Forge included: Joe Staton,Tom Nguyen, Tom Feister, Scott Blair, Richard Green, Kevin Leen, Brett Pinson, along with media personalities Daeg Faerch, William Forsythe, John Schneider, Jason Mewes, Derek Mears, Doug Jones, Micky Dolenz, and many more.
Steve was a perfect choice to be involved in all this conjuring! His work has spanned art for the hit TV show Smallville to his first sequential print illustrations at Malibu comics, and his wildly popular stint on Razor for London Night, as well as New Warriors, Hourman, and JLA for Marvel and DC Comics. Followed recently by mini-series work for such characters as She-Hulk, Hulk, X-Men and much more!
The fact that Steve was also balancing two careers for a time--serving 16 years as a firefighter, and drawing comics by night-- means that his duel career also makes him closely familiar with the need to fill America's blood banks.
As MEDIC says, "One Blood Donation Can Save 3 Lives." Even though the holidays are over, just a reminder for us all to look for opportunities to give.
