Hero Initiative, the comics’ industry’s leading non- profit dedicated to helping creators in medical and financial need, has rebranded itself for 2012 with a redesigned website and a new, dynamic logo that draws its power from the language of the medium.
The new website, located at www.heroinitiative.org, has been rebuilt for the ease of visitors and contributors eager to learn more about the Hero Initiative’s fundraising efforts and about what they can do to help. The new site spotlights heartfelt video testimonials from Stan Lee, Howard Chaykin, Ed Hannigan, and many other industry legends who have helped, or have been helped, by the organization over the past ten years.
“We hope our new site represents our new message—That YOU can be the Hero—and facilitates giving and understanding for those who love and appreciate the medium,” said Hero Initiative President Jim McLauchlin
The site provides daily updates, personal stories, information on upcoming events and convention appearances, and a simple-to-use online store featuring Hero Initiative merchandise, including the recent Justice League of America 100 Project.
Hero Initiative Development Director Christina Zietsman and board member and Mischief Maker Studios CCO Brian Pulido oversaw construction on the new site, engineered to provide detailed information on the Hero Initiative’s mission and services. The build was provided pro bono by Bill Cox of Collector’s Network, who operates the popular ComicArtFans.com and PopCons.com Websites. In addition, Zachary Pennington of ZAP Design contributed the new logo.
“Through CAF I've worked with the Hero Initiative for many years. “ says Cox, “and it's always a pleasure to be able to help them raise awareness for their cause. Helping creators who've made our hobby what it is, is something I feel every fan of comics and comic art should consider."
