JONAH HEX #1 and 2, the first two issues of the hot new DCU western series, have sold out at DC Comics. The series is written by Jimmy Palmiotti & Justin Gray and illustrated by Luke Ross.
"I want to thank the fans and the retailers for helping prove there's room on the shelves for a scarred and nasty old Western antihero by the name of Jonah Hex," says Gray. "I'd like to thank DC and our editors, Steve Wacker and Harvey Richards, for allowing us to pit rabid dogs against children in a fight to the death. And a special thanks to Luke and (colorist) Jason Keith for their phenomenal work in making us look better than we are."
"This is great news," says Palmiotti. "It shows that fans appreciate diversity and retailers support it. We will do our best to continue the tradition set by the original Hex series and deliver the nastiest, grittiest, dust-kickingest adventures we can. Besides, with a face like that, who wouldn’t love Jonah Hex?"
"Having two issues sell out in the same week shows the way this new series is gaining momentum," says Bob Wayne, DC's VP - Sales. "Now ' s the time for retailers to increase orders on upcoming issues."
Other issues of JONAH HEX are available as follows:
JONAH HEX #3 (NOV050277) is available for reorder.
JONAH HEX #4 (DEC050270) is available for advance reorder and is scheduled to arrive in stores on February 8.

JONAH HEX #6 (FEB060276) is solicited in the February Previews (Volume XVI #2) and is scheduled to arrive in stores on April 5.
In addition, the SHOWCASE PRESENTS JONAH HEX TP (SEP050243) is available for reorder.
Please note that DC has no plan to go back to press on JONAH HEX #1 and 2. Copies still may be available at retail.
