What do you get when you mix Blackbeard and his sassy, estranged daughter with a heroic, runaway slave and the great Benjamin Franklin?  The Blackbeard Legacy & Pistolfist!  A fun-filled, action-packed, one-shot crossover unlike any other!

"The thing that really makes this comic unique," says writer/Pistolfist creator J.S. Earls, "is that it was inspired by a poem called 'The Downfall of Piracy' which a 12-year old Franklin wrote about Blackbeard's demise.  Not only is that poem a key element in the story, but we've woven lines from the entire poem throughout the comic -- using those lines as inspirational cues for the art."  And speaking of art...The Blackbeard Legacy & Pistolfist not only features art from animator supreme Diego Simone, known for his work in Argentina, Italy and Spain, but also a variant cover by illustrator Rob Richardson of Dragon Cross fame.

Bluewater Productions, publisher of some of the best-selling biographical comics of all time (Political Power and Female Force) and the popular William Shatner and Vincent Price comic franchises, hasn't abandoned their love for original independent comics like their hit 10th Muse and Legend of Isis series.  Earls echoes those sentiments, "In tough economic times like these, when both the comic and movie industry are primarily re-hashing old ideas left and right, it's nice to have a comic publisher who supports and believes in original creations like Pistolfist and The Blackbeard Legacy.  Believe me, I understand the necessity to do what you have to to survive, but it's really appreciated when publishers and -- perhaps, even more so -- retailers stand behind independent comics.  Without supportive retailers, the fans wouldn't even know we were out there.  We really can't thank them enough either."

The Blackbeard Legacy & Pistolfist one-shot releases worldwide January, 2010.
