Crossover artist Greg Horn has signed on with Virgin Comics to produce a cover for legendary director John Woo and comic superstar Garth Ennis' new Virgin Comics project Seven Brothers. Virgin has been extremely tight-lipped on what promises to be one of their keystone books, and this is the first release of Greg's cover image. They have also signed him to paint covers for their titles Devi and Snake Woman.
None of this has de-railed Greg from producing his standout monthly covers for the fan-favorite, critically-acclaimed She-Hulk series for Marvel. "The She-Hulk covers have been a lot of fun, and quite a challenge with some of the characters Dan Slott is including in the series. I've gotten to paint Man-Wolf, Starfox, Two-Gun kid, and even The Living Tribunal! It's been a blast." As for possible future projects with Marvel, "Nothing's set in stone yet. But Marvel gave me my big break, and it'll always be home for me."
Comics haven't been the only thing on Greg's plate, though. Having done work for Warner Brothers Licensing, with art featuring LeBron James for ESPN Gamezone and Powerade, Greg was tapped to do licensing artwork for one of the summer's biggest blockbusters: Superman Returns! Afterwards, he was assigned to create the box art for Mattel’s movie related boardgame Kryptonite Crisis. Greg’s portrayal of the comic book version, "Superman: Power Beyond Compare" appears as one of the limited edition prints available from Clampett Studios.
With a full slate on the horizon, including more She-Hulk covers, design work for Tom Batiuk's Funky Winkerbean property, and a re-design of classic boardgame Stratego, Greg will quickly have to learn how to balance work and family when wife Betsy delivers twin bundles of joy this week. "I tend to work at night anyway, so I've got that going for me. Those 3 o'clock feedings should happen around the middle of my workday. I'm all set!"
