Dynamite Entertainment today released images and information announcing the release of Painkiller Jane #1, the first issue of the all-new Painkiller Jane comic series from co-creators Joe Quesada and Jimmy Palmiotti. Painkiller Jane is also set to star in her own SCI FI Channel series starting in April.
Dynamite's new Painkiller Jane comic book series (which kicks off in April with the special introductory priced - just $.25 - Painkiller Jane #0 to coincide with her SCI FI Channel April 13th debut) features a story by Jane creators Joe Quesada and Jimmy Palmiotti and is written by Palmiotti with interior art from returning Painkiller Jane artist Lee Moder. Painkiller Jane #1 is scheduled for a May release and will be available with covers by Amanda (Supergirl) Conner, Georges (Buffy) Jeanty, Ron (Supergirl) Adrian and Stjepan (Darkness) Sejic! Fans should also check with their local retailer, as Painkiller Jane #1 will also be available as a "Blood Red" Foil Edition!
About the new series, Dynamite stated, "Reuniting Jane's original creative team of Joe Quesada, Jimmy Palmiotti and artist Lee Moder guarantees that Painkiller Jane will be back on the stands in full force, taking aim and kicking butt. Painkiller Jane has always been one of the hardest-hitting action series out there, but now Jane will be pushed to the limit as never before. Jane's co-creator and series writer Jimmy Palmiotti has even promised that Jane will ‘go places she has never been before'… let's just hope no one we know steps in her way!"
Painkiller Jane has starred in numerous cross-over comics with the likes of The Punisher, The Darkness, Vampirella, and Hellboy. In April, she will star in a new SCI-FI television series with Kristanna Loken of Terminator 3 fame starring as Jane Vasko.
PAINKILLER JANE #1(MAR073325) STORY BY JOE QUESADA AND JIMMY PALMIOTTI; WRITTEN BY JIMMY PALMIOTTI; ART BY LEE MODER; COVER ART BY RON ADRIAN, STJEPAN SEJIC, GEORGES JEANTY, AND AMANDA CONNER
Jane is back! The creative team of Joe Quesada, Jimmy Palmiotti and Lee Moder return for an all-new Painkiller Jane event! Picking up from the explosive events of issue #0, PKJ #1 hits the ground running as Jane faces international terrorists and the introduction of a brand new character - "The Infidel" who will change her world forever!
Featuring cover art by Ron (Supergirl, RED SONJA) Adrian, Georges (Buffy) Jeanty, Amanda (Supergirl) Conner, and Stjepan (Darkness) Sejic!
Find out for yourself why reviewers have described Jane and her creators as "Jimmy Palmiotti has a sick, twisted imagination, and he really cut it loose here. But the book really works because Lee Moder draws the hell out of it, depicting every gruesome moment with grisly adoration for the script." (Marc Mason, ComicsWaitingRoom.com)
