LOSERS ARTIST JOCK RENEWS HIS EXCLUSIVE AGREEMENT WITH DC COMICS
Jock, the artist of LOSERS and cover artist on BATMAN, has renewed his exclusive agreement with DC Comics.
“With THE LOSERS coming to its huge climax and the opportunity for other projects both with Vertigo and the DCU coming up, it seemed a perfect time to continue working with DC,” says Jock. “I really couldn’t have hoped for anything more from working with my editors... except perhaps the keys to that experimental Batplane they keep on the roof of 1700 Broadway. It’s just selfish — all the DC staffers get to take it for a spin, but when it comes to the creators? Not a chance.”
“Jock’s drop-dead covers and dynamic storytelling on THE LOSERS have become a Vertigo mainstay,” says Karen Berger, VP — Editorial Director, Vertigo. “We look forward to working with him as he brings his graphic signature style to more of our books.”
Upcoming issues of THE LOSERS are available as follows:
• THE LOSERS #30 (SEP050309) is available for advance reorder and is scheduled to arrive in stores on November 30.
• THE LOSERS #31 (OCT050322) is solicited in the October Previews (Vol. XV #10) and is scheduled to arrive in stores on December 28.
• THE LOSERS #32 (NOV050327) is solicited in the November Previews (Vol. XV #11) and is scheduled to arrive in stores on January 25.
ARTIST SHANE DAVIS SIGNS EXCLUSIVE AGREEMENT WITH DC COMICS
Artist Shane Davis, who has pencilled issues of BATMAN, ROBIN, NIGHTWING and WONDER WOMAN, has signed an exclusive agreement with DC Comics.
“What can I say, this took me by surprise,” says Davis. “I am thrilled to have found a place to hang my hat at DC Comics. I think everyone knows that this is a very exciting time at DC, and I’m very happy to be asked to be a part of the new DC Comics.”
“Shane is a superstar. Period,” says Group Editor Bob Schreck. “(Senior Editor) Matt Idelson and I have been working with Shane on and off for several years now and he’s really come into his own. The fans are in for a real treat as they will get to watch him grow here in the DCU. His work on BATMAN #647 was met with a resounding thunderclap of applause from our readers, and his next gig on the BATMAN ANNUAL will be even better! We are all so lucky to be working with him!”
BATMAN #647 (SEP050206) is available for advance reorder and is scheduled to arrive in stores on
November 30.
ARTIST HOWARD PORTER EXTENDS HIS EXCLUSIVE AGREEMENT WITH DC COMICS
Artist Howard Porter, acclaimed for his amazing runs on THE FLASH and JLA, has extended his exclusive agreement with DC Comics.
“It's a pleasure to continue making comics with DC and working with the great (Senior Editor) Joey Cavalieri,” says Porter. “I am striving to make the next few years my most creative ones yet. To ensure that, as a signing bonus DC has shared their super-secret mantra with me and now I would like to share it with everyone else. Just remember, use it only for good: In brightest day, in darkest night, no comic shall escape my sight — let those who worship comics’ might, beware my power… DC Comics’ Light!”
“Uh, welcome to the Corps, Howard,” says Cavalieri. “It’s great to have Howard continuing with DC... and wait till you see his work on JONNY QUEST!”
