Komikwerks.com announced today plans to celebrate Black History Month with award winning cartoonist Tayo Fatunla, and his critically acclaimed comic strip "Our Roots."
"It has become an annual tradition here on Komikwerks to feature Tayo's work during Black History Month," said editor Patrick Coyle, "Each year Tayo posts great work with Komikwerks, and this year is no exception. Tayo's pulled out all the stops to make sure this is a special event."
Each week during February fans will be able to view several all new "Our Roots" strips, each honoring the courage, creativity and accomplishments of people of African heritage, rendered only as Tayo Fatunla can.
Then, on February 28th, fans can visit the site and download a high-resolution poster created by Tayo specifically to celebrate Black History Month 2007.
"The poster is a beautiful companion to his online comics," said Coyle, "For those readers who enjoy his comics, you won't want to miss out on this work of art!"
Fatunla plans to kick off the month with a visit to New York. His first stop will be a visit to the Joe Kubert School of which he is a graduate.
Komikwerks.com has featured Fatunla's work during Black History Month since 2004. The "Our Roots" strips proved so popular that in 2006 it became a regular monthly feature on the site.
