If, during the next week or so, you spot a copy of the second issue of Heroic Publishing's new LIBERTY GIRL title on sale at your local comic book store, snatch it up while you can. Higher-than-expected orders from both Diamond Comics and Ingram Periodicals have already exhausted the entire print run, which means LIBERTY GIRL #2 has sold out even before it goes on sale, which means reorders are going to be very hard to come by.

LIBERTY GIRL, by Dennis Mallonee and Mark Sparacio, features the adventures of America's bronze goddess of freedom, Elena Hunter, the Liberty Girl. From 1938 through 1955, she was our country's greatest heroine. Then she vanished. Now, half a century later, she's returned to us, just when we need her the most.

Each issue of LIBERTY GIRL features fully rendered cover and interior artwork by MARK SPARACIO, whose painted covers for Comics Buyers Guide, for various DC Comics, and recently for Marvel's Heroes for Hire comic have earned him a growing fan following. LIBERTY GIRL is Mark's first ongoing series project. He's currently hard at work on issue #3 (on sale in January 2007), as well as the special "Origin of Liberty Girl" project that will first appear in February as a special promotional bonus with the Liberty Girl action figure from Shocker Toys, and a painted cover for Overstreet's 2007 Comic Book Price Guide.

In addition to the modern-day Liberty Girl stories that appear in each issue of LIBERTY GIRL, golden age adventures of the Liberty Girl are currently scheduled to appear in issues of ANTHEM, and beginning next summer in the pages of LIBERTY COMICS. Each issue of LIBERTY GIRL features 28 pages of full-color adventure, starting in January at a reduced cover price of only $2.99
