LOPRESTI EXCLUSIVE TO THE HOUSE OF IDEAS…OR IS THAT THE HOUSE OF MOUSE?
Enquiring minds want to know what fan-favorite penciller Aaron Lopresti is going to do next, now that he’s just signed an exclusive 3-year contract with Marvel Comics.
“I’m going to Disneyworld!” bellowed Lopresti, apparently fraught with joy.
In between treating his inner child to numerous trips to the Magic Kingdom, Lopresti has worked on such stalwart Marvel projects as What The?!, Amazing Spider-Man, Captain Marvel, and, of course, his current art assignment on the heavy-hitting X-series Excalibur. True Believers everywhere are waiting for this astonishing artist to stop spinning around in giant teacups and return to drawing the heroes and villains of the Marvel Universe.
“If Aaron’s happy, we’re happy!” grins Marvel Editor-in-Chief Joe Quesada. “No matter where he spends his vacations, it’s good to know he’ll be coming back home to good ol’ Marvel.”
Marvel Publisher Dan Buckley concurs. “What Joe said!”
Lopresti could not be reached for further comment, but operators of the “Pirates of the Caribbean” have quoted him as saying “Drink up, me hearties, yo ho!”

D’ARMATA TO THE HOUSE OF IDEAS! POPULAR COLORIST IS LATEST EXCLUSIVE FOR MARVEL COMICS!
Hard-working colorist Frankie D’Armata has scored an exclusive 3-year contract with Marvel Comics. To the Man of 1000 Colors, this is a dream come true. “I’ve always wanted to work for Marvel and now I have that chance, and I haven’t found a nicer group of people to work for!” exclaims D’Armata.
The creative colorist has been involved with some high-profile projects and has worked with a bevy of comic book luminaries: Ultimate Nightmare with Ellis and Harsine; The New Avengers with Bendis and Finch; and, of course, the new Captain America with Epting and Brubaker.
“Comic colorists can sometimes be overlooked among all the other creators,” says Marvel Editor-in-Chief Joe Quesada. “But Frankie’s work has so captured our imaginations and we had no doubt we wanted him on top Marvel projects. There’s no way any reader could not notice his beautiful work.”
The future look’s bright for D’Armata but he’s a bit coy about exactly what that future entails. “I will be starting to work on a new Bendis book that hasn’t been talked about yet, but it will be something to put the Universe on its ear!”
