Devil’s Due’s Lost Squad and Boom! Studios’ The Foundation are making their way to the big screen, through Rogue Pictures and Paramount respectively.

Paramount Pictures snagged the rights to The Foundation even before the mini series will go on sale. Series creator Andrew Crosby and Boom founder Ross Richie will produce, while Dan Levine and Elizabeth Raposo will oversee for Paramount. A writer and director have yet to be attached.

The Foundation marks the third feature film Boom! Studios has put in development, following the earlier announcements of Talent and Tag.

From The Hollywood Reporter: Written by John Rozum and drawn by Kody Chamberlain, the five-issue miniseries uses the prophesies of Nostradamus as its backdrop. In the tale, Nostradamus' books of foreshadowing made him a rich man, and he took his riches and created a foundation to prevent the prophesies from happening. The comic focuses on the secret team in the present day who uses the prophet's published and unpublished works to predict threats to the world.

Chris Kirby and Alan Robinson’s six-issue Lost Squad mini will be put into production at Rogue Pictures, with Stephen St. Leger and James on board to write and direct. Adrian Askarieh and Daniel Alter are producing, with Devil’s Due publisher Josh Blaylock involved as co-producer.

From The Hollywood Reporter: The duo, known and Saint & Mather, are based in Ireland; St. Leger is a commercial director, Mather is a director of photography. The pair are riding into Hollywood on buzz created by "Prey Alone," a high-octane 15-minute short they made digitally using actors and some hand props. It is that technique, similar to the fashion of how "300" was made, that they plan to use in making "Squad."
