Kansas City--The cities largest pop culture and comic book event has just become a little bit more incandescent with the addition of stellar "Ghost Rider" and "MoonKnight" artist Mark Texeira at their upcoming two-day constellation of media and industry talent.
You know artist Mark Texeira from his recent awesome interior art on the guy with the flaming skull, but even more of you know him from his fine art painting technique applied to such characters as Batman, Conan and Vampirella to name just a few. Classically trained under the tutelage of Max Ginsburg and David Leffel, Tex is one creator continuing to burn the midnight oil, with recent covers for Maxim Magazine and Hard Case Crime...and a few other surprises to be announced soon--including an art exhibition in New York.
Just what you'd expect from a guy whose continuing clients include: New York Magazine, Scholastic Books, MCI Records, Def Jam Records, Marvel, DC, Harris Publications, Wizards of the Coast, Black Bull Entertainment, Fleer....etc. etc.
And for all those waiting on the definitive art book on the man, "The Art of Mark Texeira: The Artist's Great Escape" is currently in production via Vanguard Productions, with text by Texeira and writer Renee Witterstaetter.
And, as an added bonus at the convention, Tex will be joining comic creators Gary Friedrich, Jason Aaron and Javier Saltares on Saturday, April 5th to discuss their experiences working on one of comic's most iconic characters--Ghost Rider.
Don't miss a great chance to catch Mark Texeira as well as other guests--Bernie Wrightson David Finch, Bruce Jones, Angel Medina, Kenny Baker, Walter Koenig, Eric Powell, Kurt Busiek, and many more--at Planet ComiCon April 5-6th at the Overland Park International Trade Center.
