The Big Apple Con has announced that "Ghost Rider" and "MoonKnight" artist Mark Texeira will be one of the featured comic greats at their upcoming two-day extravaganza of media and industry talent.

Known for his recent awesome interior art on the guy with the flaming skull, Mark has long been applying his fine art painting technique to such characters as Batman, Wolverine, Conan and Vampirella to name just a few. Classically trained under the tutelage of Max Ginsburg and David Leffel, Tex is one creator always sought after, with recent covers for Maxim Magazine and Hard Case Crime, as well as upcoming work for GameTap, amongst much more, as well as the new "Creator Chronicles: Mark Texeira" DVD from Woodcrest Productions.

And for all those waiting on the definitive art book on the man, "The Art of Mark Texeira: The Artist's Great Escape" is currently in production via Vanguard Productions, with text by Texeira and writer Renee Witterstaetter.

In fact, Vanguard will be manning their booth both days of the Big Apple, taking pre-orders for the much anticipated tome. In addition, Vanguard--always known for their in-depth and illustrative art books on major creators-- will also be taking pre-orders on the softcover edition of "Excess: The Art of Michael Golden," which sold out and is going into a second printing!

Texeira has opened his sketch list for the Big Apple show, and will be doing a limited number of commissions. So, if you missed out at the NYCC by signing in too late, be sure to stop by at Big Apple.

In any regard, don't miss this great chance to catch "Tex" as well as other guests--Richard Dreyfuss, Malcolm McDowell, Bernie Wrightson, Gene Ha, Alex Maleev, Billy Tucci, Tommy Castillo, Michael Oeming, Buzz, and many more--at the Big Apple Convention June 7th and 8th at the Penn Plaza Pavilion in Manhattan.
