Mighty Mjolnir will blast into theaters sooner than expected.
Variety reports that due to the delay of Spiderman 4, Paramount and Marvel Entertainment have bumped up the release of Thor to May 6, 2011. The May 6th release date is coveted for being the first week of summer.
Shooting begins this month on the Kenneth Branagh helmed picture. The film will star Chris Hemsworth (Star Trek) as the Norse superhero, and will co-star Natalie Portman and Samuel L. Jackson. Hemsworth will also reprise his role as Thor in the upcoming Avengers movie.
